South Asian Shattered Glass Styled Shoot
from the planner... "One of the great things I love about living in the DC Metro area is our extensive access to the many cultures of our world! I'm always inspired by the beauty of these cultures, and I'm always looking for ways to incorporate these cultures into my design. Shattered Glass was birthed out of a desire to blend a modern day wedding with the breathtaking beauty of a South Asian bride. Many times, my clients come from different backgrounds and find it difficult trying to find creative ways to blend both families without having two ceremonies or not being able to compromise. Each of our vendors were given free reign on our idea once it was shared. There were essential elements that we knew we wanted to include, especially sea glass. Lady G Paperie was so excited to add her beautiful hand-lettered sea glass place cards, which she did beautifully with silver ink! I honestly feel she stole the show with her gorgeous hand-drawing of Historic Oakland on the hand-dipped paper. She also added an exquisite touch by hand-lettering a beautiful poem on glass that expressed the sentiments of our ideal clients."

"Sharon White of The Cake Courtesan is among the most talented bakers in our area. Once we gave her the vision of a glass appearance on our cake she stunned us with a beautifully detailed glass-like cake with silver etching and beading! She hit it out of the ball park! She took our idea of shattered glass and created an original idea that we were all ooh-ing about. Pretty Petals was an amazing addition to our team. She executed florals with little direction except our vision board, and she created a perfectly orchestrated bouquet of blush and ivory florals with David Austin Roses that smelled just as great as they looked. She added a simple and elegant altar to add additional beauty and sophistication to an already beautiful venue."

"Our model was given traditional and natural make-up by South Asian Hair and Makeup artist Sarah Khan, who always does amazing work and always delivers luxury hair and make-up. Our gown was hand-selected by one of the few South Asian Boutiques in our area. The blush and diamond accents worked magnificently in our theme as we wanted to capture the beauty of the dual 2016 Pantone colors of the year. I am so glad that I was able to work alongside our main photographer Rosie Omar, she along with the help of our second shooter Novaes Photography took their time with every intricate detail to make sure we documented the beauty we had the pleasure of executing. They captured the essence of our Shattered Glass shoot wonderfully."
