Robby & Kate have been together for over a year and have known for a long time that they wanted to get married. After trying to plan a full-out wedding and realizing that just wasn't them, they opted for a spontaneous and last minute elopement. Even though the two live in Washington State, they chose to road trip it to Joshua Tree National Park for their elopement. It became a special tradition to go on vacation and camp there every year in the winter so it ended up perfect. After hiring me, they flew me down to meet them on December 18th and we camped together just the three of us. [supsystic-gallery id=59 position=center] On December 19th, we got up and Robby & Kate helped each other get ready and put on their fancy clothes and then we ventured out into the park. We started off wandering around taking portraits and then found a special spot at sunset for them to say their vows to each other. Immediately there were tears as they promised to love each other forever. I had put some soft music on my phone and given it to Robby so they could create their own little moment without me listening and intruding. I loved how intimate and private it was for them. Exactly what they had always wanted. That night, we took some fun starry night photos and some photos in their car that they camp in all the time. The next day we ventured around and took more photos, hung out and explored the park. We had a blast and I will never forget this occasion. It was so special to be apart of. Robby & Kate are both work fighting forest fires during the summer and that's how they met.
