Cake & Lace is so excited that fall is here! It’s the season of pumpkin spice latte, fluffy sweaters, and football. Not only is it fall, but coming very soon is Halloween and Day of the Dead! We have this amazingly creative day of the dead inspiration shoot to share. These photos are so realistic, I caught myself having to look away from the screen. What a creative and  beautiful inspirational wedding! Boo!

Here’s more from the photographer:

This shoot was inspired by the Day of the Dead (Día de las Muertos) Mexican holiday, and we wanted to showcase a wedding full of bold colors, beautiful costumes, and other festive elements. To create an organic and moody feel, we did the shoot on the gorgeous grounds of the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, which has various vegetative zones ranging from marshlands to native riparian and upland vegetation areas.

The sweetheart table was covered with burgundy chiffon, red tulle, and decorated with festive elements like gold and red taper candles, skeleton champagne & wine glasses, a bold and colorful centerpiece, and a papel picado (decorative banner with elaborate designs). Arizona Florations used vibrant colored flowers to create standout bouquets, flower crowns, a boutonnière, and the amazing centerpiece for the sweetheart table.

Amour du Sucre created a magnificent three layered cake with three different flavors (pink champagne, vanilla, and chocolate) that was covered in black fondant and decorated with gorgeous flowers. The makeup artists used their talents to paint the faces of our models to resemble skulls, which has a positive meaning in Día de las Muertos, a time when family and friends gather to pray for, honor, celebrate and remember loved ones who have died. A wedding is a perfect time to celebrate and honor our loved ones, past and present!
