[supsystic-gallery id=18 position=center]   From the photographers - "This summer wedding at the 1824 House in Vermont had us absolutely swooning. Hints of earthy romantic details were around every corner. From the strapless fairytale dress that Kelley wore to the dapper groomsmen in suspenders, we loved every minute of this wedding in the Mad River Valley of VT. Vermont is a special place for this bride and groom. Kelley and Stephen met at Middlebury College where they fell in love with each other and this beautiful state. It only made sense that they would say their “I do’s” while surrounded by the Green Mountains for their summer wedding at the 1824 House. In addition to suspenders, Stephen wore a blue bowtie and a white button-up shirt to go along with his navy suit. Kelley wore flowers in her hair and a dress that had pockets! The pockets came in handy, as she could keep her sunglasses tucked away for those brighter moments during the outdoor ceremony. We loved that the bridesmaids all wore different styles of white dresses–something that really looked fantastic in the wedding party pictures! The florist for the wedding was Jayson Munn, a renowned floral stylist based in Burlington, VT. He created a set of stunning rustic wedding bouquets made of purple thistles, seafoam poppy pods, succulents and white peonies.Following the hilltop ceremony, guests were invited into the sailcloth tent for a rustic and cozy reception. Raw linen table runners with garlands of eucalyptus adorned the long dinner tables. Jars of honey personalized with the bride and groom’s pictures served as unique guest favors for everyone! There were several heartfelt speeches during the evening. [supsystic-gallery id=19 position=center] Kelley’s sisters followed up their toasts with an amazing rendition of songs. They, along with many of their extended family, welcomed Stephen into the family by singing “We Are Family”!As the sun went down, the dance floor picked up with the twinkling cafe lights of the tent overhead. A campfire outside set the scene for a delicious smore-making party outside and it seemed like the perfect ending to such a lovely wedding day. From the bride:Stephen and I met roughly nine and a half years ago. It was sophomore year at Middlebury College and we were at some party. This long-haired hippie wearing a ripped flannel approached me... Stephen. He reminded me of Mimisiku from Jungle 2 Jungle, my ultimate teenage crush. We exchanged numbers and soon after he took me on a snowboarding date. I've never looked back.Steve proposed to me in December of 2014. We went on a getaway weekend up to Bristol, VT and stayed at one of our favorite little B&B's -- nothing unusual. We snowshoed up Camel's Hump and there, at the top, amidst a snowy winter wonderland, Stephen proposed. We snowboarded back down to the car, turned off our cell phones, and celebrated with some delicious Vermont brews! Advice to future brides planning a Vermont wedding - Plan early and and be prepared to finish everything the week before the wedding so you can sit back and simply enjoy. Try to slow down time on the wedding day, take in as much as you can, smile and EAT! Favorite thing about your wedding day - I can only pick one thing? Well, obviously Steve was (and continues to be) my favorite thing! But despite the obvious, I'd have to say our family and friends were the best part of our wedding day! We were surrounded by our favorite people in the entire world. And it is the people that make the wedding -- the speeches, the dancing, the laughs, the love!"
