from the floral designer... "As a floral designer and stylist, I truly want my designs to feel like they are a reflection of my clients. I encourage my clients to include pieces that they love and that reflect their personalities when building their wedding mood boards. This way they can include family heirlooms, antiques or even a 1980's sandblasted vintage denim jacket into their day by bringing the memories of past love into the future. Inspired by a beautiful antiqued garden tray, I set out to plan an intimate bride and groom photography session that highlighted the bright Spring flowers blooming here in the Pacific Northwest. Sourced from local flower farms, these luscious pink and peach ranunculus, caramel garden roses, cream peonies and white sweet peas were all arranged perfectly imperfect creating a fresh and colorful Spring palette. Sarah from Letter and Line Studio, created a whimsical and modern invitation suite while Brittany from Fanciful Rentals generously let us borrow from her bespoke lounge collection."

"Our real life couple, boyfriend and girlfriend, Brian and Jacquie drew their inspiration from their obvious love for one-another and said they felt relaxed as they walked through Discovery Park allowing Aura from Aura May Photography (who happens to be Jacquie's cousin) to capture these gorgeous unposed moments so natural I can't help but wonder if they played their part too well! Unknown to me at the time, Jacquie had brought her mom's vintage Calvin Klein denim jacket to the shoot. It was getting later in the day and we had a few minutes until the rain poured. So after a quick hair and makeup change, Jacquie channeled her mom's care-free warmth by slipping on her denim jacket while Brian gave us a refined edge which was definitely more their style. Our session ended with a fun "pretty in pink" meets refined punk which brought some humor and a fun vibe to finish the shoot!"
