Amber and Brian's colorful wedding at the Overbrook House on the Cape was magical. This marriage was truly a collaborative affair, with friends and family helping out throughout the day. There were so many details about this wedding that we loved, from the painted animal figurines for escort cards to the old family photos dotted around. Amber's mother passed away a few years ago, and a relative handmade colorful pennants out of her clothing to remember her bright spirit. Amber also kept a photo of her in a locket around her bouquet all day. Romantic Wedding Shot A fantastic toast was made in honor of Amber's mother, and it was clear that her vibrance was felt throughout the wedding day by all who knew her. Amber and Brian included very cool details into the day like coloring placemats in their likeness, a traditional clam bake for dinner, and a super unique escort card table. She was interviewing for a college internship, and Brian was one of the supervisors. She had taken the commuter rail in for the interview, and it was a bit of a walk back to the train station from the office. So, Brian's boss at the time (who could tell Brian was smitten) said: "Brian will drive you home!". She weighed up her two options: walk back 20 minutes in a blizzard to take a 45-minute train back to the city, or get into a stranger's car and drive with him back to my apartment, she chose the latter. Thankfully all worked out marvelously and they made it all the way back to Boston in his beat-up Bronco with an expired inspection sticker. This fabulous couple has stuck by each other's side through thick and thin, so it was an easy decision for them to spend the rest of their lives together. The surprises continued when Brian had all of their friends and some family (who flew in from Massachusetts) waiting at their house to celebrate with them. Advice from Amber to future brides planning a rustic wedding on the Cape - 'Be flexible and choose vendors that you'd want to hang out with in real life! You have no control over what happens on the day of your wedding, even if you plan every little detail yourself (which I did). Ultimately someone else will be in control of everything that happens so you just have to enjoy yourself. All of the people we worked with made it SO easy to relax. Some of our vendors even spent a few hours hanging out after they were done with their part for the wedding, and it was awesome!

Full Wedding Ceremony Our ceremony was definitely one of our favorite parts of the day. It was so personal to us, with a dear friend officiating for us, to reading our own vows. We truly loved every moment. Our officiant made a point to pause a few times during the ceremony so that everyone could take in the moment and I'm so happy she did! Some of the best advice we got from some of our fellow married friends, was to take some time throughout the day to really appreciate what's happening, and we really took it to heart. [one-half-first]Here Comes the Bride[/one-half-first] [one-half]First Dance[/one-half] We also loved how involved our friends and family were. The venue and vendors we chose really allowed for a ton of space to personalize every detail, which is so beautiful and meaningful, but also very time consuming and a ton of work. We were lucky enough to be able to handpick our friend's roles based on what they love and are amazingly talented at. From a friend cooking our rehearsal dinner and two others performing our parent dance and ceremony songs - to another friend playing the role of wedding planner during our wedding rehearsal, and nearly all of our friends and family teaming together to create some of the most beautiful bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, and bud vases I've ever seen. Wedding Gifts Romantic Venue Those are the details we'll remember forever and the ones that made our day so special to us'. Happy Planning!
