from the photographer… “On a warm summer morning, a talented group of creatives gathered at The RoseMary Barn in McKinney, TX. Inspired by the park-like setting and beautiful light-filled barn, I excitedly photographed gorgeous, well thought out details and the luminous bride. There was definitely a bohemian vibe in the air, as the bride settled onto the tree swing and held her gorgeous oversized bouquet with protea. The table decor mirrored the bouquet, with amazing bright pink protea taking center stage. The naked, watercolor cake, with subtle tones of blues and pinks, wowed with pops of gold and delicate florals.”

from the planner… “As a part of a collaborative styled shoot event with the local chapters of the Rising Tide Community in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, this bohemian-inspired shoot brought together some amazing vendors and served as an educational exercise for all involved. The design inspiration was a dreamy, windswept romance full of pastels, bohemian accents, and showcasing the versatile use of space at the venue, RoseMary Barn. We chose to keep the colors palette light and airy. Pastel pinks and blues coincided beautifully with the white, neutral venue and sprawling greens surrounding. Images of dreamcatchers, desert sunsets, and wild romance filled the minds of all vendors as they were called to create specific elements for the shoot. This shoot was run a bit different from most styled shoots as there were several photographers shooting the different scenes within this shoot. Jennifer Murray’s light and airy style was chosen as the fan favorite, as voted by the fellow DFW Tuesdays Together group members.”

“The gorgeous bride, a wedding vendor herself and maker of custom curated gift boxes (including the ones seen in this shoot!), had some fun with the photographers allowing them to get their favorite poses and reactions. A favorite from all was the tree swing we found on the property. It lent itself perfectly to our carefree, wild, and whimsical aesthetic. Some trends that brides can use at their own wedding can be seen throughout the shoot. Starting with the color palette, having a bohemian wedding doesn’t mean sticking to dark, gritty colors, or having a palette filled with many bold shades. Our light and airy colors allowed for fun accents of goldenrod and coral, but maintained a romantic vibe. Another big trend right now are tables that allow guests to sit on the floor. Now, this may not be practical for poor Grandma, but imagine incorporating a few tables at your cocktail hour or lounge like this? Guests will feel right at home and the environment encourages people to mingle and make memories. Finally, one of my favorite boho trends showcased in this shoot is the cake! This semi-naked cake was perfect for the aesthetic. The rough, naked elements made it feel natural and almost homemade, but the marbled colors, drip techniques, and feather accents gave it so much personality. Cakes are a perfect way to incorporate some loud-speaking trends in a subtle way.”
