In light of this, we've created a handy checklist to help you pack for your honeymoon. Let's dive in! packing for honeymoon

The Practical Stuff

Without the items below, you won't be going anywhere fast. So, make packing these priority number one! We also recommend storing them somewhere you can easily access them. Trust us; this will make your journey a whole lot easier!
  • Airline boarding passes
  • Passports
  • Visas
  • Any other pre-booked travel tickets
  • Drivers license (this is essential if you've hired a car)
  • Money, credit, and debit cards (just the ones you need)
  • Hotel reservations (and any other confirmations you need, for example, restaurant reservations, theatre tickets, tour passes, etc.)
  • Proof of travel insurance
  • Any important medications
  • ID tags for luggage (inside and out)
Top Tip: Take photocopies of any important literature including your vaccinations records, prescriptions, and contact details for your bank, etc. Hopefully, you won't need to refer to such documents, but you can never be too careful! Handy Hack: Although travel sickness pills don't fall under the category of 'essential' they're something you should buy in advance (if you know you suffer from travel sickness). That way if you're short of time at the airport you won't need to worry about them! packing for honeymoon

Stuff You Might Find in Your Bathroom

Now a lot of these things you'll be able to buy once you reach your destination. However, if you're traveling somewhere remote, it's probably not worth taking the risk.
Plus, if you don't want to waste your precious time on holiday, and you have the weight allowance, you may as well pack everything you need:
  • Contraception
  • Paracetamol or ibuprofen
  • Travel toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Makeup bag with all your essentials
  • Hairbrush
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Soap
  • Makeup remover
  • Moisturizer
  • Deodorant
  • Lip balm
  • Personal-hygiene items
  • Dental floss
  • Cotton balls and tissues
  • Tweezers
  • A Nail file
  • Safety razors
  • A travel hairdryer (if your hotel doesn't provide one)
  • Insect repellent
  • Sun cream
  • Contact-lens solution and spare contact lenses

Clothing and Accessories

Naturally, your destination will dictate the clothing and accessories you'll need to pack. However, the guide below should help you decipher everything you need:
  • Jewelry and accessories to compliment your outfits, including an evening bag and jacket. Take pieces of jewelry that'll compliment multiple outfits, so you don't overpack.
  • Enough underwear for the duration of your trip
  • Enough day and evening outfits to last your honeymoon. Make sure you include a lightweight sweater or cardigan even if you're going somewhere hot because it'll get cooler at night. When planning your outfits, you should pack a variety of shorts (if you're going somewhere hot), pants, skirts, dresses, casual tops, and blouses. That way you'll have everything covered.
  • Depending on how much space you have, take three pairs of shoes or sandals. Choose shoes that compliment both your day and evening outfits and preferably ones you've previously worn in. You don't want any nasty blisters getting in the way of your fun!
  • Lightweight cotton socks
  • A couple of swimsuits
Top Tip: Think very carefully about your outfit choices, and the sorts of activities you'll be doing. You don't want to overpack, so try taking clothes you can wear more than once. Don't get caught out:  take a strapless bra or two if your outfit needs one, this is super easy to forget! Handy hint: Find out the times you're flying. This will have a massive bearing on the kind of outfit you'll want to travel home in. If you think it might be slightly cooler, be sure to pack at least one pair of comfy jeans or leggings, and layer up, so you have the option of wearing a sweater if you need it. packing for honeymoon

Oh and don't forget...

Some of these are more important than others, but you get the drift.
  • A book or magazine
  • A deck of cards
  • A travel pillow and blanket if it's a particularly long flight
  • A sewing kit for fashion emergencies
  • Headphones
  • Chargers for any electronics your taking
  • Electrical adapters (if necessary)

Other Practical Bits and Bobs

  • Camera, memory cards and tripod (this is mainly applicable to those who take photography seriously)
  • Video camera (if you don't want to use the one on your phone) If you're bringing electricals make sure you fully charge them beforehand, this will make things easier when you're over there.
  • A few plastic bags (these come in handy if you need a rubbish bag, or if you have to pack away wet clothes).
  • Maps, guidebooks, and a translation dictionary (these may come in handy if you're going somewhere that doesn't have internet signal)
  • Antibacterial wipes
  • Addresses of family and friends, if you're planning on sending postcards
  • A small rucksack for day trips
  • A rain poncho (just in case!)
  • A small medical kit (Band-Aids, antihistamines, diarrhea tablets, etc.)

If you're going skiing...

Here are a few things you'll probably need.
  • Waterproof snowsuit
  • Thick sweaters
  • Thermal underwear
  • Ski gloves
  • Wooly hat and scarf
  • Ski Goggles
  • Skis, poles, ski boots, etc. (We suggest either mailing these to your hotel or arranging a rental in advance)
  • Thick socks (preferably waterproof)
  • Snow boots
If you've been skiing before you'll probably already know this, but you should take a mini bottle of suncream and lip balm with you on the slopes. This will help prevent sunburn on your face.
We also suggest packing moisturizer because skin can get very dry in cold weather, and this will help sooth any cracked skin.
